Cataract
The cataract is a commonly known eye disorder where clouding develops in the crystalline part of the lens of the eye. This clouding may also develop in the envelope of the eye. The clouding may vary from slight opacity to complete opacity and hence, the passing of light gets obstructed completely. At the initial stages the patient may suffer from myopia, later the lens may gradually become yellow and opaque. Due to this the perception of blue colour may get reduced. Untreated cataract may even make the patient blind. Most of the times, the patient may develop cataract in both the eyes.

Cataract can develop due to several reasons at a time. Cataract is generally seen to occur due to long exposure to ultraviolet light. It may also be caused due to exposure to radiation. Apart from this, this disease can be caused due to certain secondary diseases, like hypertension, advanced age, diabetes, or possible trauma. The cataract is mainly caused due to denaturation of the lens protein. Congenital cataract may be due to certain genetic factors or due to certain kinds of diseases during the birth of the baby. Certain medications like seroquel and corticosteroids may also lead to this if used for long time.
