The patient with colour blindness is unable to detect different types of colours. There may be patients who are unable to detect red-green colour or hues. This problem is common in Protanopia, Protanomaly, Deuteranopia and Deuteranomaly. It is more commonly found in men than in women. The blue yellow colour blindness is most commonly seen with Tritanopia and Tritanomaly patients.
It is generally said that there is no known treatment for curing colour deficiency. Though, certain types of tinted filters and contact lenses may be used for colour blind individuals so that they can see the colours more successfully.
