Ectropion
Ectropion is a condition in which turning of the eyelid takes place in outward direction due to which inner surface gets exposed. Along with adults, the condition is also found in dogs as one kind of genetic disorder in some breeds only

Weakening of the connective tissues present at eyelid, aging process, certain kinds of allergy, excessive exposure to sun, scarring, etc are some of the causes of the condition. In some cases, the condition remains congenital and can also happen during anti-cancer treatments.

- Keratitis
- Long term conjunctivitis
- Turning of eyelid outwards
- Dry and painful eyes
- Excessive tearing of eyes
- Appearance of redness in white part of the eye and at the lid
In most of the cases, the condition is not preventable. Corneal complications can be avoided by using lubricating ointments or artificial tears.
